So... you think that its balanced for a 5th warlock to be able to cast 8 fireballs per day? That seems a little excessive to me, and probably will result in asking "why would anyone play sorcerer when they could warlock it and get more high level spells?"
Warlocks can’t cast Fireball…?

Oh, I know that my preferences will never be fully explored in a modern version of D&D.

That said, I still was hoping that they would at least move away from the spell-equivalency system, and more toward "spells are for casters (FULL CASTERS), and other classes and species get abilities and other things ... not spells."

But if wishes were horses .... um, well, I'd avoid ordering the meatballs at Ikea, that's for sure.
Sure. I mean, I'm totally fine with power equivalency and reskinning (I'm a 4e fan, after all), but I'd also be fine with spells having a stronger fictional identity and only being used by a few classes.

My personal ideal is that spells would be treasure, but the game definitely isn't going to drift in that direction.

I would probably cap it to 2-3 recharges per day, but I mean, warlocks can already do that now.

I didn't have the "confuddled" reaction for this.

I feel like I'm missing something, because I'm not sure I'm not sure I'm smellin' what the TwoSix is cookin' with that last statement.
