My apologies for the drive-by posting.

I stumbled on this thread and was appalled to learn that one of my favorite game designers / world-builders may be a Nazi. As a Jew this offended me greatly. But, then I decided to engage in some critical thinking.

1. MAR Barker spent his life fantasizing and writing about a science-fantasy world, much more advanced than ours, of 'non-white' people. This doesn't sound like a person who subscribes to white supremacy ideology.
2. Barker converted from Christianity (a primarily 'white' religion) to Islam (a primarily 'non-white' religion).
3. Writing about Nazis does not make someone a nazi. Are the writers of 'The Man in the Castle' aired on Amazon Prime nazi sympathizers since they envision a world where the nazis won?

The irony of this thread is that the nazis power base was based on group think and toeing the party line regardless of what critical thinking would otherwise indicate. You guys can do better.

I'll immediately remove my account. But, please consider my words before posthumously destroying someone without evidence.

To take your post seriously, I’d have to believe you actually read the posts within this thread and took the presented evidence seriously. Having just reviewed the first several pages of this thread, I don’t see evidence of that.

If you had, I don’t think your dismissal of the thread’s content as “toeing the party line regardless of what critical thinking would otherwise indicate” would exist.

While it’s true you don’t have to be a Nazi to publish things regarding Nazis, publishing such works via the publisher of The Turner Diaries is evidence of being a fellow traveler. Being on the board of a non-peer reviewed “journal” whose primary purpose is to push Holocaust denial propaganda is evidence of harboring antisemitic ideologies.

And that’s just in the first few pages.

So delete or don’t delete. But if you DO continue to use ENWorld, do better in the future, especially if you’re going to accuse others of being uncritical thinkers.

Like, you could have checked his Wikipedia page before coming here to "set us straight". Click the little blue numbers to get the actual sources. And again, there is nothing "critical" about thinking non-white people or white people who idolize non-white people cannot be fascists. I mean, good god, half the junior fascists of the world idolize an imagined Japan for god's sake.
