Depends on the rule, really.I would also like to ask:
How would you, as a DM, feel if a player was upset that you weren't using a certain common houserule?
And how would you feel as a player if a DM doesn't use a houserule that you were used to?
Except that it is literally spelled out in the rules, that "you must have a clear path to [the target]".From the massive other thread, I think the "line of effect" concept that isn't explicitly called out in 5e spells is probably assumed by a chunk of users.
A variant I've seen recently is "drink it as a bonus action and roll the dice, or drink it as a standard action and the dice are maximised."Potion as a bonus action.
thats the main one i see really.
And what about things that don't have a die roll? like invisibility?A variant I've seen recently is "drink it as a bonus action and roll the dice, or drink it as a standard action and the dice are maximised."
Would not care at all. This is very common for me. It is SO common for a player to whine "But My DM did X!" and I will shrug and not care.I would also like to ask:
How would you, as a DM, feel if a player was upset that you weren't using a certain common houserule?
Accept it and move on.And how would you feel as a player if a DM doesn't use a houserule that you were used to?
