You know that annoying guy who minored in philosophy in undergrad and now thinks that this minor means that they have smart things to say as if they were a philosophy professor but only seem capable of making philosophically and intellectually insipid half-baked comments while misuing terms in Latin and butchering key philosophic concepts? If that guy was a TTRPG setting, they would be Planescape.

This is a thread concerning opinions, not universal truths.
True.

And it has been my experience in gaming since '79. Of course, I run long-term campaigns exclusively.
Gaming since ‘77 in over 100 systems.

“Long-term” is nebulous. Personally, except for campaigns that fizzled, I generally run/participate in campaigns with lifespans measured in years. The longest lasted more than a decade, starting with AD&D, converting over time to 2nd, 3rd and almost to 3.5Ed.
