D&D (2024) What type of ranger would your prefer for 2024?

You know, a few months ago, I would have said WotC wouldn't put forth an unapologetically terrible Warlock, and yet here we are.

Never say never.

Well it was not printed yet.

That's the whole problem with the spell-less ranger. WOTC can't get a majority okay on any version of it yet..

Just kidding; I think it's a great idea. In fact, I started one yesterday but it didn't get a whole lot of traction.

I've being doing the opposite.
I've been saying"Put pen to paper" and"Start tying".

I've literally been asked for a nonmagical ranger Tier 3 or Tier 4 feature for 30 pages now.

We are still on 10 gp hunting traps that don't work on bears

I fully support the thread! In spirit! But I'm more inclined to build my own for RPG Drive Through if I'm putting in that degree of effort. :3

Even with the fans of the spell-less ranger, the consensus is heavily divided.

Remember WOTC tried a spell-less ranger. It flipped for many reasons.

Rangers have had wizard, druid, and cleric spells, and those also flipped for many reasons.

A normal person can make over a dozen of rope traps in a day.

And none of them will be invisible traps that throw people into the air regardless of their size and weight.

I am perfectly happy with people making snares, you don't need to remove the snare spell (which no one even takes anyways) to force people to do so. Just like you don't need to take away mold earth to force people to dig pits and fill them with sharpened stakes.
