Spelljammer? Planescape? Barsaive (or whatever Earthdawn’s was called)? Creation? They don’t have analogues to real world locations, cultures, and histories. They are unique places with new things to explore and experience. That is what I want to see more of.
Gotcha. Well, the good news is, they seem to be already doing what you asked. They released Spelljammer last year, and they're releasing Planescape in October.

Yes, and I’m thrilled that these are coming back! Even if I do not play them (though seriously considering getting the Spelljammer set, as it’s 50% off at Amazon, and price-for-content was one of the major complaints in reviews), just knowing that a major company is saying, “Hey, let’s give our audience something different, even if it is 30 years or so old.”

My note about the specificity was about the OD&D version (as I was gone by the AD&D period), and the extremely specific things present regarding the non-spell Detect Evil, the mount, the holy sword and a couple of other things. These so clearly matched up with a rather specific fictional character (though some overlapping with others) it does not strike me as at all a coincidence.
Sure, but that character doesn't come from nowhere . . .

All I’m saying is quit trying to make all fantasy with strange races and magic fit in an as-close-to-accurate version of medieval Europe. You don’t have to recreate medieval European (especially that of England) society, laws, mortality rates, religious concepts, and so forth to have a compelling world. You can fight red dragons in other climes and without rampant illiteracy and massive religious powers behind the throne.
Other than Harn, what RPGs do this? Pendragon maybe?

Sure, but he also doesn't look much like a cleric, even a fighter-cleric. That's why I say even with easy multiclassing, the paladin might have been built as a standalone class if that was what Gygax really wanted; because a fighter/cleric wasn't going to get him there.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying remove swords or plate or wizards based or anything of that nature, which are part of the legacies of medieval Europe. You've been using the wrong settings and system.

Spelljammer? Planescape? Athas? Barsaive (or whatever Earthdawn’s was called)? Creation? They don’t have analogues to real world locations, cultures, and histories. They are unique places with new things to explore and experience. That is what I want to see more of. It’s fine to take elements of the real world and mix it up, as long as it ends up as something that seems interesting.
Man, those are some truly awful, predictable settings.
