So the Castle Zagyg book is a megadungeon akin to Castle Greyhawk?

Edit: I think I see that its a campaign setting only.
Castle Zagyg is Castle Greyhawk and its dungeons with the numbers filed off, reconstructed from Gygax's notes and memories. It's not exact, in part because the old dungeon was a constant work in progress and this is just a snapshot, but also because Gygax in the early 2000s was a different person than he was in 1974.

It was never completely published when EGG died and the Troll Lords had to stop selling it due to rights issues.

Yggsburgh is the setting that goes around the castle. If I remember correctly, there are plenty of adventure sites in it, even without the castle proper. And, as I recall, the actual Zagyg setting started with more upper level ruins/surface releases than you'd expect. But again, that means there's lots to do even before one gets fully into the dungeon.

This is pretty spot on. In addition to the Upper Works, they published the first level of the dungeon underneath Castle Greyhawk Zagyg (The Storerooms). And then there are the many maps, encounters, and source books for the City and surrounding environs.

I honestly gave up on ever seeing this finished. I have not watched the videos, but did they indicate that they were looking into finishing Castle Zagyg itself at some point?

Still kinda up in the air a bit but it's what Luke wants to do, as far as I can tell. Yea.

So, what’s in it? Just setting info or is there dungeon stuff as well?
Did a quick skim and it's a setting book. It details the region around the castle zygag, but not about the castle/dungeon itself. It's a large area it looks like. Jam packed with various adventure sites, plots/encounters, smaller dungeons and cities in the area (a full chapter on the city Yggsburgh). It seems quite detailed.

Yggsburg errata attached and the below.

Here is another nugget which can be helpful.
The mayor's stats and description were left out of the Yggsburgh book by accident.
Fortunately Gygax/ColPladoh gave the info in a forum discussion:

NPC: Druid Lochinvar Beechwood

12th level. All the detailed ststs will be in one of the modules covering all the sectors of Yggsburgh, but here is what I have in my ms.:

The current Lord Mayor of Yggsburgh, serving in his fifth year in office, is His Lordship Lochinvar Beachwood, the Druid (N druid 12, 48 HP, AC 14 (+2 magic ring; when arrayed for battle AC 17 with +3 leather armor), full range of spells, serpent staff, +1 scimitar of swiftness (allows two attacks per round), and +3 dagger). Escutcheon: A border of green with gold mistletoe leaves on it surrounding a gold field with a beach tree. He is originally from the Ashwood (q.v.).

Cheers,
Gary
