D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

There are ways of making sure you go first.
You can skip 90% of the fight and murder Marcus before he transforms, and he never gets to summon any winged horrors. It's an actual dialog option you can pick when talking to Marcus before meeting Isobel.

You don't even need to pass a Cha check with Isobel when she comes to investigate his murder.

I didnt know that, I spoke to her before ever meeting Marcus, and then coming out of meeting her, its straight into the fight.

To be fair, you miss out on all that juicy winged horror XP, so I don't consider it a great option since I'm a greedy greedy XP goblin.

But at least the option exists if you really get irritated by the fight and have a pre-Isobel save (so you can talk to Marcus before Isobel).

I didn't meet him until he showed up with wings (and died 6 seconds later).

The winged horrors look scary but are basically just flying monkeys.

There were a lot of people complaining that he was too hard of a fight. As I said, I can only assume they rushed to the inn too quickly and were under-leveled. I literally escaped the fight with three characters uninjured lol.
I think it's more of a RNG issue than a level one. The enemies there can potentially do a lot of damage or almost none, moreso than most fights. I saw this when I had to redo the fight after casting the wrong spell (don't ask lol) and the huge burst of damage I'd taken just didn't happen the second time, despite initiative favouring the bad guys even more. Also when I did it Isobel didn't count as friendly, unlike everyone else in the inn, and indeed even seemed to be targeted by enemy only spells, which was weird. I presume that was a bug though.

I just finished my second run through. Does Shadowheart really get no ending if you find her parents? She literally just says "yeah the tadpole is gone" and.....scene. And Wyll is....yep losing my powers, oh well....not even seeing him get to become a grand duke or anything.

I love this game, but man the ending is just so abrupt. Give me some damn closure people!

Annoying early act 3 bug:

After meeting the emperor (on the Astral plane) and beating the Gith, I took a long rest.

The portal back disappeared and there is NO way to get it back (that I can see) other than to go back before the fight and redo it (irritating because I was a bit under leveled and it's a tough fight)!

Did a bit of googling and it's definitely not just me.

I did not want to kill those giant eagles.

I tried everything. Animal Talking did nothing. Invis to take the hammer, always detected.
Tried using mage hand to throw the hammer, detected.

For a game about multiple options to solve things, that seemed lacking.

Also, I always get caught stealthing even with Invis. Why?
