She didn't have an issue either after I slaughtered the whole crèche. I guess at that point it's either selling the egg or letting it die. Sadly you can't hatch it yourself. Would've been cool, at least in an epilogue.

The ultimate outcome of stealing that egg and handing it over to the Society of Brilliance is imo one of the weirdest things in the game.

It's certainly a Gotcha! but they really didn't know what they were doing beyond "Science Good!" I get some strong colonial vibes honestly. 🤣
Yeah it's ultra-colonial, and they intentionally gave Esther and the Society extremely colonial vibes, there's no question about that. Frankly that a lot of people seem to think it's somehow good or "okay" for their characters to steal and then give away a baby belonging to a sentient species to someone who openly wants to conduct experiments, seemingly merely because it's in an egg not a womb causes me a degree of eyebrow-raising, personally. Of course if you're RPing a heartless colonialist or amoral mercenary or whatever, obviously that doesn't apply, and you would of course hand it over for some shiny gold.

Did you think something good would happen? Surely not? The game drops a lot of hints. The person who wants to buy the egg is clearly amoral and rather creepy. She's working for people who wants to conduct mind-control/brain-washing experiments on children, and is quite open about it. Surely the only question would be how far out the bad thing happening would be, like, weeks from then or decades from then.
