From Twitter the time dragon. It appears Legendary Actions are gone, they have been turned into reactions that certain creatures can use more of. (Which does make sense as Legendary Actions technically were reactions)
That Fey Monstrous Compendium on DnD Beyond related to the MTG setting Eldraine was the first place to show that it's Legendary Reactions now.

Maybe they want examples of good and PC playable aberrations?

They also could have tried to bring back the Elan as a PC option (though that's quite tied in to Psionics).
Spares them from trying to make a wholly new Aberration race for PC usage.

Which, honestly, kinda sucks. Ever since they gave us playable Constructs, Oozes, and Monstrosities, I was hoping to see Aberrations and Undead next since WoTC was starting to get a bit more "daring" with what they were allowing us for PC options.

Would I like for the Elans to come back? Yes. I liked them a lot. Do I like the idea that they are taking the easy way out for Aberration pcs? No. Should I be surprised the easy route is being taken? Not really.

Planar Traits confirmed, leaves me wondering if they change creature type? I mean those Mechanus infused Dinosaurs are clearly constructs, not just very orderly Dinosaurs, but it's less clear with the Mount Celestia Drake and the Gehenna Unicorn (although if it turns the Celestial Unicorn into a Lawful Evil Fiend, that makes it way easier to use good creatures especially Celestials as villians, a Tartarus corrupted Empyreans seems fitting).

Previous editions had several Aberration races, like the Synad, Elan, and Foulborn.

Why do design work when pretty pictures and maps are all most people want (judging from what I've heard around here and what people are excited about)?

They did give us playable Undead(ish) in Rabenloft...at least Dhampires and Returned republished would probably juat be given the Undead tag.

Given that one of the few things we know about the Monateranual is that they want to increase the variety of potential encounters for all 14 Creature Types across all Levels...thinking are going to see some recategorization as well as new options.

Yeah I know that. I just rather they bring one of those to 5E or make a new option if we're going with an Abberation playable pc option.

Then again, the Kalashtar pc can technically be refluffed as an Aberration pc option since its traits are very Aberrant. The Psurlon monster stat block in the spelljammer bestiary pretty much had Dual Mind and was resistant to Psychic Damage. And that was typed as Aberration.
