I have never been 100% a fan of some of the specifically Japanese storytelling tropes that is common in anime, but I very much like the feel of much anime,if that makes sense. So western anime, such as Netflix's Castlevania, is a great compromise to me.

That's actually quite common. Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Big O are examples of anime more intoned for Western tastes.

My faves are Everythings, followed by onion, garlic and egg. I can’t stand any of the ones made with fruit and/or cinnamon.

It does not. Its also unhelpful but true that many programs are downplaying the history part of social studies in favor of more practice of writing and reading skills (which of course are taught elsewhere, but they seem to feel history can take the hit). It's all quite depressing actually.

The problem is, largely, political mandates. From all levels. And from the Union.

SOcial Studies is the second easiest subject to double up with Writing Skills. Tech ed is first. And so, the tendency is to do just that.
I had about 37 hours of things to fit into a 35 hour lesson plan.

I suppose it depends on if you're having a schmear or not. For me I find the sourness from that pairs better with a sweeter base. Going savory just doubles up on a lot of strong flavors. Nice in its own way but not my preference.

But in other news I recently became a Tom Bombadil stan, and now join the ranks of those who consider his exclusion (as well as much of the Hobbits journey prior to meeting Strider) from the movies to be a total sin. No doubt if this keeps up (Im listening to LOTR for the first time as an adult) I'll likely have the same opinion on the Scouring of the Shire.
