Knightfall
World of Kulan DM
OOC: i wrote he wanted to see inside the room. Spritewing has the movement I think. Antitoxin will come handy if I can get to the knight

Rockhorn urges Spritewing on past both Tuck and Tim. He soon finds himself in the portal room. Spritewing nearly balks when the duo see the portal. The knight is on the floor next to a table and chair. There is also a wooden chest sitting next to the table. To Rockhorn's left is a 10-foot alcove with a huge statue of a proud warrior standing in it. The statue has very little wear on it. It looks like it is a normal statue and Tim doesn't seem concerned about it.
However, the wild dwarf beast heart adept can feel the evil emanating from the portal. There is a maleficence to it. What's worse is the room's "not-ceiling", which appears to be pitch black darkness that seems to disappear into nothingness. It is beyond eerie. There is something beyond the dark above him, something that seems to be far away. It makes Rockhorn's skin crawl and Spritewing very nervous.
Rockhorn is soon next to knight on the ground who seems unsure of Rockhorn's intentions. The young knight wants to reach for his fallen blade, as he looks towards the wild dwarf with wide eyes. The warrior is a young human man who appears to be barely out of his teens, yet there is a deadliness to the man's eyes. This young knight has seen a lot of action.
The man makes several gestures towards Tim behind Rockhorn. He is speaking with his hands. Rockhorn has seen many primitive tribes in the mountain communicate in the same way, but he knows from Akos and the others that this is the only way the boy knight can communicate. Tim tries to assure the man with clearly spoken words. While the knight can't hear Sir Tymbeck, he seems to understand that Rockhorn and Spritewing are not a threat.
In fact, he seems rather amused by Spritewing's appearance. He tries to lift up his hand to stroke the pegasus' forehead but his strength fails him. He shudders again and a gurgling sound catches in his throat. He is sweating profusely. Rockhorn can tell just from looking at the knight that the man has been poisoned.
A favourite tool of the Loyalists, it seems.
@Tellerian Hawke:
Tim glances at the portal while trying not to look right at it. But, then, he sees what looks like movement on the other side. He cannot hear anything, but it seems there is something, or someone on the otherside... about to come through the portal. The magical egress seems to be humming with energy. Life is being drawn from the genie at a faster rate and she has little time left.
The deaf-mute knight looks at Tim, the portal, and the genie. He signs with both hands. Tim doesn't understand, but there is an urgency to the young knight's movements. Tim soon realizes the danger. There are more Loyalists coming through... and in a blink of hasted magic, they begin to step through.
Tuck can barely see the portal just around the edge of Tim's body, and he senses that danger looms from it. "Something is happening! Be ready for anything!" The kobold urban ranger shouts out to the others still in the corridor.
The portal moves with unnatural speed and the bluish-yellow light connecting the portal to the genie begins to pulse. The genie's skin begins to crack in her magical stasis.
Two more thugs are soon standing ten feet away from Tim in front of the portal and altar. They aren't surprised to see him or Rockhorn in the room. In a flash, four Loyalists step out of the portal to either side of the altar. All have their weapons drawn and are ready to fight to the death!
"FOR MASTER PHLEIX! KILL THEM ALL!" They shout in unison.
