D&D General One thing I hate about the Sorcerer

they should have made their casting stat Constitution. Not only making them sturdier, but also making them the easiest class to MC, something that I feel makes sense if anybody can suddenly manifest a sorcerous origin. Going full sorcerer would represent actually investing time to develop your gift, while a MC dip would represent refusing to do so. Lots of story potential in that.
can't say i'm especially eagre to see mechanics used that way, i feel like it would just get exploited and the narrative ignored like how all the CHA classes take bladelock dips for CHA pact weapon.

It didn’t, though I considered it. What you have against it?
How much time do you have?

I'll leave it at this: I find pact magic to be kludgy and inelegant. If you want to combine all the flavorful casters into one, it should be an actual spellcasting class with enough magic to cast, not a two-pump-chump with a great cantrip.

I can see why that would be a concern. But if it uses CON then it's basically being built off of everybody's secondary stat, maybe even tiertiary, and that means no more perfect synergy with the other CHA classes. You could also build the MC benefits around this universality.

Pact Magic is by and far the best spellcasting paradigm in vanilla 5E. Only thing better then it for 5E d20 IMO is spell points.
Yeah! Especially in addition to invocations.
