D&D General D&D "influencers" need to actively acknowledge other games.

A lot of folks look at influencers as experts, which might be setting some errant expectations. I'll be frank, my experience is that they are just rabble-rousers, and if all of them disappeared tomorrow, I wouldnt even notice. Though, I understand how influential they are to some folks and wanting them to have some baseline of expertise isnt unreasonable. However, being its not entirely a field of expertise, but one of opinion and advertisement, you need to set expectations accordingly. So, should they be experts? Probably, but thats up to the folks that view the vids and feeds to decide.

I know folks also dont like that D&D takes up all the air in the RPG room. Though, a varied opinion that wanders from game to game has some issues. Can get confusing to the uninitiated causing more need to explain the same topics over and over again. The intention might be that if you want to play a certain way another game does it, but its more likely to just lead to D&D cannibalizing more games making the problem even worse.

All RPG journeys are valid. Even if they start and end at D&D.

Kind of why I never watch any of those streamers. A 5E influencer is a dime a dozen because they want to cater to the most people who play the most popular game. I get it, you gotta make money.

Most popular, most played, most well known = largest possible target audience & largest number of content creators.

Just to add: D&D is not the end of the RPG journey, but the beginning. I love D&D and play it more than any other RPG but D&D only does D&D well. There are so many better systems out there especially for different genres of games.

D&D can be just the beginning or it can be beginning and the end of journey. If someone gets all that he wants/needs from ttrpg game with D&D, there is no need to try out other games. There are better games for individual niches. But d&d is decently versatile in covering different game genres and one of the easiest to find group to play with.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There will always be a big fish. The Network Effect demands it. You can plead with the big fish to be a good neighbor and not bully the smaller fish. You can advocate for a different fish to usurp the spot of big fish due to its superior fitness. But there will always, always be a big fish.

There is nothing wrong with having a big fish. But when you have one big fish and everyone else is a minnow, or in the case of content creators, remoras or pilot fish, that's a problem. When WotC tried the OGL change recently there were so many people whose livlihood was threatened and that's a sign of an unhealthy landscape. The fact that so many content creators, and least the more popular ones, started with or revolve around D&D is a problem.

And just to be clear here I'm not saying this because I'm anti-D&D. I play D&D.

I do not believe that it is the responsibility of Ginny Di or any other person doing a video, podcast or blog to tell anyone about anything that is not related to the thesis of their production.
Anyone with the interest to go looking for ttrpg related information on the internet will come across Fate, the OSR movement games and the like. There are channels promoting them and they will pop up in ones feed.

A problem for whom? I think it is mostly a problem for them. I have no issue with the fanbase broadening the term D&D to include non WoTC material but doing it mostly benefits the producers of 5e adjacent products.
I am not sure that it makes a lot of difference to the majority of tables. There is vastly more product produced than most table can consume.

A problem for the fans too I think. If you have one company that is the industry's linchpin then it's health is everyone's problem.

No. People who have only ever played D&D are not saying they are well travelled in the RPG space. They are saying that they have never had a reason to leave their city. Which is totally valid, if sheltered.
