D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

The cover of the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide has been unveiled.... in the Mirror, a mainstream newspaper in the UK.

The cover art features villains (as opposed to the heroes on the Player's Handbook cover revealed last week), with skeletons in the foreground, the classic villains Skylla and Warduke in the mid ground, and then Venger from the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon looming in the background, and right at the back lurks a dracolich.

The DMG will be released November 12th, 2024.

I like the art and plan on picking it up regardless of the cover art but it is a plus for this one. Side note, it’s blurry but is the MSRP showing 49.99? Nice if so!

Yup, the three core books will have a $50 MSRP. I reckon they expect to make margin through volume, since they will likely sell 20 times as many PHBs or DMGs as any Campaign book.

As long as the spine fully covers the...you know...spine of the book this time around. Man I hate that about my 5E books. Looks terrible.

I admit that this seemingly small thing has bothered me as well. My copy of Storm King's Thunder is taunting me from my shelf even as I type.

Well, other new books seem like they will still be $60, this is just the Core books. Keep the price of entry low.

That does mean the new Core books are about the cheapest the core 3 have ever been, in real money terms.

Hmmm, I'm awaiting the conundrum I'll have if I vastly prefer the alt cover, because I prefer the standard PHB over the alt ... do I go for consistency or just get the different style covers?
