D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

The cover of the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide has been unveiled.... in the Mirror, a mainstream newspaper in the UK.

The cover art features villains (as opposed to the heroes on the Player's Handbook cover revealed last week), with skeletons in the foreground, the classic villains Skylla and Warduke in the mid ground, and then Venger from the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon looming in the background, and right at the back lurks a dracolich.

The DMG will be released November 12th, 2024.

“I can’t believe the 50th anniversary edition is using characters from the beginning of the game in the 50th anniversary edition meant to celebrate the beginning of the game. I’m so mad!”

God forbid WotC use the 50th anniversary edition covers to celebrate IDK the anniversary.

Who's mad? Bored and uncaring is not "mad". I don't see anyone mad at all. I just don't care all that much either way. I want the contents to be good. I don't think I've ever bought, or not, a DnD hardcover because of a cover.

No offense to Mr. Jacobson but this one just isn't working for me. I liked both covers to the PHB but this DMG cover is a miss. Even if I cared a bout Venger, Warduke, and... whoever that third one is, I just don't think the composition is interesting.

I love Venger and Warduke. I will be on the lookout for an art print for this cover art. If Venger, Warduke, and Skylla are on the DMG, mirroring Strongheart and his companions on the PHB, what the heck will be portrayed on the MM!? I am also very curious about the alt art for the DMG and MM.
