Spoilers Star Wars: The Acolyte [Spoilers]

What, Mae just walks in, stabs him with a lightsaber that she doesn't actually have
I think this illustrates that you were not actually watching the show. One thing we know for certain is that it wasn’t Mae who killed Kelnacca.
If the baddy is that bad, that he can walk up to a Jedi master and just carve him like a turkey without the Jedi so much as knocking over a table, this better be a really short fight.
Clearly they must be that bad, since they are about to face off solo against six or more jedi. If they can do that, then one taken by surprise isn't going to be a problem.

I could be wrong, but I think Kelnacca is an knight, not a master, and nothing we have seen of him suggests he is a particularly talented warrior (jedi are often addressed as "master" even if they do not have that rank). This is a time of peace, the jedi don't expect to fight, usually it's enough to turn up with a lightsabre on your belt.

It's a plot point - we spend time on a training sequence where the emphasis is on pure defence. We see it because it's important. I expect we will see it used against our line-up of red shirts in the next episode.

Wow, the irony.
I'm dyslexic, I have reading comprehension fails occasionally!

But I don't think the point was to frame Mae, just to kill Kelnacca as quickly as possible before they can talk. The bad guys' plan has gone well south. But there is a lightsabre present - on Kelnacca's belt. Which I expect Mae will pick up.

I loved ep 3, because it showed us other force users. Then it killed them and we'll barely see any more of it. That part sucked.

EP 4? Um, they set up scary moth fight with lots of them, and do nothing. There wasn't much exposition while walking. It really seemed like filler to me.

They were attracted by light. If all the jedi had pulled their sabres out there would have been a swarm, which would have been swiftly massacred by the jedi. Sol told the party not to ignite their weapons to avoid a massacre - like the one that happened 16 years earlier. The moths looked like scary darkside monsters, but left alone, they were no threat. And the one that was killed - that was Osha's fault.

Someone Kelnacca knew and trusted could credibly one shot him. In fact it seems like it has to be important to the story that he died like that given they denied us the pleasure of seeing a Wookie Jedi fight.
I also think there are also practical reasons for not having Kelnacca fight. Without expensive CGI a big man in a monkey suit doing backflips would look ridiculous!

That wasn't clear to either me or my wife. Was that from a previous episode that I blanked? Or was I talking over an exposition? Anyway, I found the episode lacking. Could have been an email.....

Sol only says "they are attracted to the light, don't draw your weapons" (or words to that effect). You are expected to work the rest out for yourself. This show expects the audience to think, it doesn't hand out everything on a plate. That's why I like it.

I must have missed him saying that.... But my question was about the massacre.
