D&D (2024) Let's call it 5.24

I'm just calling it 5e. Or, just D&D. My group will know what I mean. Most of the general public will likely switch, especially since it will be the only version available going forward. If I need to distinguish, I'll likely just refer to the old version as 2014.

As time moves on, I think it will be easier to differentiate those that don't switch as opposed to those who do.

I can't do that, because my group won't be moving to it. So 5.5 it is.

Fair. But I'll still pretty much think of it as '5e' and '2014 5e' if I need to reference it. Much like it's generally assumed people are using the Tasha options, and otherwise talk about pre-Tasha's.

Face it, outside of this board, it's unlikely to be an issue either way

5.5 or Revised has the problem that you have a naming problem when they decide in a few years to make another 5E version.

I'm hoping I'll stop caring about WotC at all by then.

Of course, this assumes that 100% of the people who voted "yes" here do not have a preferred alternative, but find "5.24" acceptable.

Gotta admit though, it takes some glandular gumption to call 1/3 a commanding lead.

We're going to have to go to the Electoral College on this one.

I guess I always figured that the revisions in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything were previews of what we would see in the latest revision. Tasha's is still one of the top ten best-selling D&D books for 5th Edition, after all.
