The Wizard is an Arcane Scholar in a game where careful research in libraries and laboratories barely exist.

The Wizard isn't generally regarded as underpowered.
Agreed. We should have more magical research in our 5e. I assume that's the take-away here.
 






We haven’t seen the final version of the Hunter’s Mark spell. I’m holding hope that it has scaling like the damaging cantrips use. 5 ranger levels two dice, 11 ranger levels three dice. It also could help incentivize sticking with the class and minimize multiclass dips.

So that capstone changes all dice to d10s. That now feels much more of a capstone.

Then hunter’s mark eliminates using a bonus action to designate a new target when the current target drops to 0 hp. This would help with the traffic jam competing for bonus actions.

Maybe Monday’s video on Spells will lift the veil on the spell?

That's an interesting idea, but the text they've used in the preview article doesn't seem to support it. Let's see if they talk about it in Monday's video.
