Maybe it is good they were removed from phb then. They probably should get their entries in setting books.
THAT would be bad as you'd making their physiology and mentality variable.

The point is to define what a half elf or half orc is.

The core issue is WOTC could not define them without either copying the elf or orc OR getting into inappropriate spaces.

It's a creativity deficit.

If you cant describe a hybrid or mixed species without copying the parent, that's a issue with the designers creativity..

That's fine for DMs. But that's what game designers get paid to do and have budgets for writers for.

Are you sure that is a good way to deal with species in 2024?

Same question as above.

Or maybe clever to step back.

That sentence sounds strange. Maybe you meant "can't".
But no. I think it is clever to not try it, as tzey would get backlash anyway.
The 2014 half-elf had no own feature besides high charisma and one more skill proficiency. And if you go back to older editions: half elfs in d&d never got their own thing (besides maybe in 4e).

Was this adressed towards my post? I can't see the connection. Did you quote someone I casted invisibility on?
If it was an answer to my post: I never said, it ia not the job of the designers. But you said every world should have their definition for half-elfs. So I said: the designers should put them into a setting book where halfgelfs have a culture of their own.

In the same way that blue people are naturally more intelligent?

If you can't see how that is racist, then there is little point in continuing this discussion.
No.

Half elves are LITERALLY humans with elf like aging..

They LITTERALLY stay in their prime for a hundred years without elven adherence to elven superiority.

A Half elf is a human who doesn't age.

That's not racist.

Ackshullay...

Age. Half-elves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 180 years.

That was the half elf feature.

They are 50 years old humans in a 20 year old humans body with better eyes and sleep immunity.

You really don't get it do you? It has nothing to do with half elves. It is the concept that members of one species (i.e. race) can be better (e.g. more charming) than members of another species that is racist.
