Olympics Talk: A brief discussion before it goes away

I'm not sure what I will remember most about this Olympics:

1) Raygun and that ... manure. Definitely reminds me of the snowboarding lady who shopped around for a country to snowboard for, and then only just rode the pipe back and forth.
2) Turkiye's hitman
3) the pole vaulter who lost because his... pole... knocked over the crossbar. I mean, if I'm going to take the L at the Olympics, I definitely want it to be for that.

As far as I gather, Breakdancing will not be included in the coming olympics.

I have heard it doesn't have to do with the controversy. Not sure. Boxing might also not be either from what they are saying (again not because of the controversy but because they need a governing body as the IOC was just meant to take over temporarily). If boxing goes that would be ashame as being an olympic sport is what keeps amateur boxing alive. I guess we still have the golden gloves

From what I've heard ... and this is from a political podcast so I'd take it with some salt ... Breakdancing is under the umbrella of Dancesport which has been championing Ballroom Dance as an Olympic sport for awhile and pushing Breakdancing was kinda just a change in tactics to see a Dancesport in the Games.

If that is true, it's smart. You couldn't pay me to watch ballroom dancing. But I do remember beat street and this is captivating to watch (it has plenty of athleticism, creativity and surprise)

High level ballroom is very athletic, but I get it's not everyone's cup of tea. Heck, I only competed at a middling level and a full round of Jive reduced my legs to jelly.
