That the Tolkien's lore is silent on Celebrimbor death and the only known fact is that he's not present in the TA,Maybe. What did they say?
I'm not bothered by the timeline changes, but imagine an anthology version of this story, with a chronology-accurate timeline, where each season has some of the same elf characters, maybe some of the same dwarf characters, but every season has new human characters! It would be do-able, and could be very good, but it would be very different. The timeline in RoP bears little resemblance to the books. The awakening of the Balrog isn't even in the right Age in the show!
Not the case. More details forthcoming. That the Tolkien's lore is silent on Celebrimbor death and the only known fact is that he's not present in the TA,
This conversation has taken a strange turn. I fully know that this is not the case, I even quoted the date of his death, straight from Appendix B of LotR.Not the case. More details forthcoming.
Literally the conversation that derailed the other thread. I agree. One of the things I like about this series is largely a break from the Peter Jackson movies (I loved 3/6 of them) and the novels: Orcs are people.
They're not necessarily nice people and Adar is probably still a villain, but making them something more than anonymous hordes whose only goal is to conquer, eat hobbits and not get beat up by the Uruk-Hai has been welcome.
