2024 D&D Character Sheets Available to Download

dnd character sheets.jpg

The newly designed character sheets for Dungeons & Dragons are now available on D&D Beyond's website. The new sheets were created for use with the new 2024 revised 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons and were released as part of the early release launch of the 2024 Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond. Notably, the new character sheets are condensed from 3 pages to 2, contain attunement slots for magic items, and place various skill proficiency stats under their corresponding core ability score. Also, the new character sheet contains various technical updates, such as "Heroic Inspiration" replacing inspiration and "Species" replacing "Races." Please note that this is not a fillable PDF, so you'll have to print it and fill it out on your own.

This marks the first time since 2014 that D&D has updated its official character sheets, with print copies eventually going on sale in a couple of weeks. Also to come are several campaign tracker sheets that will be available as part of the to-be-released Dungeon Master's Guide.

Do you mean the "Prep." header?
Sorry, what I meant was keep the “Prep.” Header but change “Prepared Spells” to just “Spells” in the title/heading of that section, since it would contain a mix of both prepared and unprepared spells for Wizards at least.

For most classes “all my spells” and “all my prepared spells” are the same thing, so this isn’t a strongly held opinion, just a thought.

For what its worth, I would!
I do prefer that, yes. I was actually planning to still keep using that 2014 spell sheet even if/when our group switches to the new 2024 rules.
Ok. That might be my next project over next week then... I'll see what I can come up with.

Just for some planning, how many entries would be good for each spell level?

My initial thoughts are"
1st - 13
2nd - 11
3rd - 9
4th - 8
5th - 7
6th - 6
7th - 5
8th - 4
9th - 3

But if people have other ideas please share!

Numbers look good. Might go for even numbers just for the looks.

I would stick to the amount of spells available as noted in the 2014 sheet version, even if only to account for the wizard. And also include 'level 0' (cantrips) on the list/sheet.

Don't forget cantrips! Sorcerers get the most of any class (6), plus Magic Initiate can give 2 more, and Species might give more (Rock Gnomes get 2). Wizards, of course, are a whole other issue.

Here is an new version for the spell sheet offering spells by spell level. The blank box in the top-right-hand corner can be used to add your class, character name, sorcery points, or whatever extra bit of info you might want on the sheet, even a second spellcasting ability with attack and save DC.

As always, any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. The available entries by spell level ended up as:

Cantrips - 8
1st to 3rd - 12
4th to 5th - 10
6th to 9th - 8

Also, here is another back-page version with a place for a Companion and shortened spell list, ideal for Paladins or Rangers.

It also includes the addition of Appearance (with age, height, weight) as well as Backstory & Personality with alignment.

Ultimately, this will replace the original back-page, allowing for either Spell List page for PCs who gain sufficient spells to warrant a full sheet for them. This back-page has decent space for tiers 1-2 IMO (at least for non-Wizards).

Feedback is welcome, of course! :)

EDIT: I've attached variant options with out the spell list and/or without the creature block.
