I liked Deep Magic too but I have always felt that KP subclasses are pretty hit or miss.I liked the Deep Magic series. Lots of good ideas in there.

maybe that is the difference, I see this as KP and WotC, not as individual people…It isn't about a "company", it is about an individual , the lrad designer, dunking on another game. I would be utterly flabbergasted if Jeremy Crawford or Justice Srmin did the same to ToV.
I was mostly talking about spells and types of magic.I liked Deep Magic too but I have always felt that KP subclasses are pretty hit or miss.
No, this article was written by an identifiable human person, Celeste Conowitch. The designer of the book she is actively hawking.maybe that is the difference, I see this as KP and WotC, not as individual people…
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it was a good move, it just doesn’t rise to the level where I give it more than a shoulder shrug, which is the same reaction I had to WotC missteps like the Pinkertons too
Not as strong as their Monster design or Adventure material.I liked Deep Magic too but I have always felt that KP subclasses are pretty hit or miss.
There is a strong subset of D&D players that only buy official content. They actively look down on or ignore 3PP. The KP article would not sway them at all.I buy a lot of both. Not sure you have a good grasp on what you are talking about.
it is not the only thing a company does that one can find offensive
The OGL was a thousand times worse imo, even the Pinkertons are at least on par and I did not care about that one at all… heck, having to blur PHB pages in review videos is easily on par too, basically any time WotC does anything, it is worse![]()

Right. There are GOOD POINTS here. But I hate it when companies rip other companies to make their point. I buy a lot of KP stuff, it's generally good (and often better than WotC stuff, esp monsters). But this really turns me off of a company. The proposed OGL that was never implemented after they listened to feedback doesn't bother me. On the other hand I find the Cybertruck kind of offensive (because it's rolling death for anyone it hits) but I'll never tell anyone they were stupid to buy one, even if I think they are.
Meanwhile it's not like the post we're discussing really bothers me, I just don't think it was a good idea to word it the way they did. Especially because they did have some good points.
