It was literally the #1 most in-demand system that was missing from the prior version of the game, which Matt Colville took advantage of and made over $1M on in a kickstarter because it was missing from the game.

$1M when WotC makes $150M from D&D kinda puts the demand in perspective.

Right now monster creation is missing, out of the two I rate that higher… let’s see if that shows up in the MM, if not I consider it a bad trade

I use campaign creation guides to help with my worldbuilding all the time. None if them are from WotC, however. Other publishers do a better job for my needs IMO.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I like campaign creation guides. I just question whether such a book reaches the level of essential-ness to make it qualify as a fourth core book.

Steathily imply? He literally is stating that a DM can buy a setting if they want one... which would in turn mean buying another book as opposed to having everything you need in the 3 corebooks. Not steathily implying anything we haven't been discussing over the past few thread pages.

But wouldn't a campaign creation guide also be another book to buy?
