Animal lords sound pretty interesting and not what I expected from the name. They are celestials and not beast as I had thought / hoped. I was think something like the animal gods from Princess Mononoke, but they've gone a slightly different route.

From the looks of it, they feel more along the lines of the 2e Planescape animal lords, where they can take humanoid-esque forms! I do get what you mean though. Strange if they are Titans.

To be clear, I don't have any issue with this approach. It was just not what I was expecting.

Because PCs can't use a Huge sized great club

It is a great club for Cyclops, but for medium size creature it is most likely a tree trunk or stone pillar

just explaining the reason. I can take it or leave it. Personally I had no issue with coming up with this type of loot from the old stat blocks. I don't need a gear or treasure entry. I am glad they are there for those who like them though.
