I initially took the ???? to be the armorer standing next to his empty armor, but then I noticed that he is holding something like a pendant or pocket watch. Perhaps a clocks/time related subclass.

I'm getting Archivist vibes from it, honestly, but it might be something like a Tinkerer or something with a focus on more miscellaneous magical items (considering we've got weapons, armor, potions, and wands/staves/rods covered by the other four archetypes). The glasses, the pendant, that coat looks like it has a lot of pockets... might be full of... useful items...

Intrigued to see how the Khoravar species has been tweaked! I doubt it'll just be "half elf but 2024 rules".
Watch them get retconned into being either humans or elves.

Edit: Seems that they've actually been turned into their own species. I wonder if Jhor'guntaal will get the same treatment, at least in the lore.

I think your first assumption is probably right. I doubt they’d introduce a new artificer subclass without testing it in UA first.

Since the Khorvarar are a distinct species with premade features.

I expect the actual rules for multispecies character, to be more customizable, fluid, and mix-and-match.
