General DCC RPG thread

What? I got my Dungeon Denizens book and t-shirt like a month ago. Love the t-shirt, picked up as an add on in backerkik, so obviously misfits inspired/ripoff. Sad not 100% cotton. Anyway, you not in US, why delayed?

The stat blocks are just a bit above average, but the narratives on the monsters are freaking awesome, the flavor, kinda the Goodman wheelhouse, is great on the monsters, you can totally invision them in play and be a bit sad you won’t get a chance for most.

Got mine today. It’s a heavy, thick bastard of a book.

I ordered two dust jackets thinking I’d frame one or both. Apparently I completely missed that they were not going to be pure art. There’s text on the spine and the wraparound is mini snake heads. It’s only a few bucks, still disappointing. But 100% me for glossing over that detail.

Absolutely loving what I’m seeing from my first flip throughs.

How gonzo is the book overall?
I've only had time for a few quick flip throughs. They provided a PDF before delivering the physical book, but I've avoided looking at it because I wanted to get the full effect from the print version. There are quite a few out there monsters just from a quick glance. One of the random encounter tables is planar monsters. There are several kinds of gnomish clockwork monsters, some sweet looking golems (including coin golems), I really like the elemental giants (it's an idea I've toyed with for years but never got around to using), the eclipse dragon and rainbow dragons are cool and weird, there's animated coffins and sarcophagi, the blood boulder and the blood boulder pebble swarm are hilarious.

The art's what you'd expect from DCC RPG. Lots of variety and it's all got that old-school vibe. But it is a bit odd seeing it in color. Definitely prefer that style of art in black and white. I think my favorite piece of art is the Clockwork Cube. It's a kid's jungle gym with lots of pointy, nasty weapons stuck on. It's glorious.

There are a few people on here who play DCC RPG so I thought we should have a thread about the game.

If anyone new to DCC has any questions, please feel free to ask.
I guess technically this isn't the right thread but I'll ask anyway. I'd love to see an old school DCC module line like they did in the past. They looked like 1e modules and played like 1e modules. I don't really care for DCC RPG though I do own it. But I would like to be able to use an OSR style game with it. I can convert from there easily enough to a specific OSR system or even another game entirely (e.g. GURPS).
