What videogames are you playing in 2025?

Just finished Greedfall last month. Now, I am starting to dig into Thaumaturge on my PS5. Really digging the Flaws and how they shape the options available to you. Also, the way the magical world intersects with the mortal world. Hoping to see more quality AA games like this.

Waiting on my wife to level her goblin back up to the level cap so we can finally, after years of wanting more goblin content in World of Warcraft, play the new goblin-centered patch, featuring the goblin capital city, street racing, gangs, a big tacky casino and all the hazardous waste you can eat.
The goblin zone is kind of tempting me to restart my WoW subscription.

But after 20 years, I think I’ve finally realized I’m done for good. Not WoW’s fault, definitely more aging’s fault.

Let's see, I haven't had the drive to play any of my backlog yet this year, so its been a mix of XCOM: Long War, Master of Orion 2, and the remake of Master of Magic. I might have played some Endless Space in that period.

(I've concluded I no longer have the patience for CRPGs...)

On Playstation I recently played through Ultros followed by Jusant. Now I'm trying Dark Light but I'm sure if I'll finish it or not,

On PC I've tried a lot of stuff from my pile of shame recently, finished Puzzle Agent (for the second time), and I'm kind of getting into Gestalt: Steam & Cinder.

I'm getting there. I've started playing BG3 maybe a dozen times, but only played it through to the end once.
BG3 is truly ridiculously long though. It's trivially easy for a playthrough to stretch out to 120+ hours, without even finding or doing everything!

RPGs in generally have been getting longer since The Witcher 3 (which was also ludicrously long), as for some reason that's been used as a benchmark of quality, even though in many cases it's more of a "this soup is terrible and there's not enough of it!" situation. I honestly hope we see more trending back towards 30 hours full playthrough, 60 hours completionist.

Quality and quantity?
