How would YOU change Shadowdark?

I’ve been dreaming of a Grimm’s original fairy tales (dark, surreal, dreamlike) crossed with Disney’s versions (light, whimsical) for some time. Likely an offshoot of my love for Changeling: The Dreaming. Basically a dark fairy tale horror comedy setting.
The closest thing I can think of may be We're All Mad Here by Monte Cook Games for the Cypher System, which is a bit like the Brothers Grimm plus Alice in Wonderland.

Today Mike Mearls put out a small tweak for Shadowdark, an alternate system for random encounters called "the threat clock". It's very interesting, but the real reason I bring this up is that I think it's hilarious and awesome that Shadowdark is now being modded by Mike Mearls. I would wager that Kelsey did not foresee that when she was hammering out her system a few short years ago.

That's awesome! Link?

I made the mistake of going to see what was in the D&D forum, and there's a thread title "13 Attacks A Round The Most You Can Get?"

Seriously.

I don't know what, if anything, I would change about Shadowdark. But man I'm glad it's not what D&D has become.

(And, for the record, the way you get 13 attacks in a round is by inviting 12 friends to go on an adventure with you.)

In fairness, that post is taking about level 20 fighters. I can't condemn 5e because of the shenanigans possible at max level, where your character is practically a demi-God. That said, it is nice to go back to Shadowdark where even skeletons are terrifying.
