Book? What's the title?

Appendix N: The Literary History of Dungeons & Dragons.
Not to be confused with Peter Bebergal's Appendix N: The Eldritch Roots of Dungeons & Dragons, which is an excellent short story collection focusing mostly on Appendix N works, with some from Moldvay Basic's inspirational reading recommendations.

For some reason, the trade paperback - which is not a limited edition hardcover and thus is more affordable - has a different title.

My original copy from 2020 is also a trade paperback, and was inexpensive.

Looks like the one you've linked to (Appendix N: Weird Tales from the Roots of Dungeons & Dragons) is a revised and expanded edition for the 2024 50th anniversary of D&D.

The original version is showing at more than double the price on Amazon now, but I'm guessing that's just because it's out of print with the revised version out.

It is kind of hilarious that this now gives us three different books with the same main title, but I appreciate that Bebergal changed the subtitle on his revised edition so they're easy to tell apart.

I never heard of the guy until I read his book. I’ve never read his blog or anything.
Sure. I get that.

When we discussed this earlier in the thread (six months ago) I quoted a few of his tweets reflecting Nazi ideology, blaming the lack of authors like Lord Dunsany, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Robert E. Howard, Manly Wade Wellman, and Poul Anderson in his church library on a conspiracy/deliberate effort by "a cabal of Jews, communists, homosexuals, and pedophiles."

I don't know how I missed that reply, but thank you for reminding me. What an a*sshole.
