Except...as far as I can make out, that experiment is about seeing if people would recognize Henry Cavill the actor, not if putting on a pair of glasses will prevent people who know you extremely well from recognizing you.

I only wear my glasses some of the time, but I've never put them on and had someone ask me, "Where did Clint go?"

It's an iconic but incredibly dumb disguise.

I think it was mostly loved ones of the NY elite being held to ensure the movers and shakers cooperate with Fisk instead of make him look foolish like they initially did.
