I heard there are naughty robots/dolls you can get from Japan, but wait until you can get an AI bot. Then people will fall in love as a dramatic pace.
A hollow existence.

No matter how disturbing AI hallucinations get, they cannot match some people's alternate realities.meanwhile

L. Ron LanguagemodelEveryone gets their own personal fine tuned and customized cult leader.
Given how the internet is....if the only choice was between folks who have a 90% of being naughty word vs little chance of that.....
I think following a virtual cult leader would be healthier and safer than following a real one. The AI cult leader isn;t going to steal all your money; at worst it might send you down a Winchester-esque rabbithole of spending money on superstitious nonsense, but it won't outright swindle you like Shree Rajneeesh or L. Ron Hubbard - that would require a kind of intentionality that AI just isn't capable ofYeah, some people have always been self-deluding, and other people have always exploited that. I think this gen AI stuff just cuts out the "middlemen" so to speak, ie the cult-leader or propagandist or whatever. Now I can just fire up an app to get a friendly voice to feed my confirmation biases - and all without the pesky constraints of experience or training or a moral compass!
eventually it WILL be run by someone evil. Or it may do those things on it's own.I think following a virtual cult leader would be healthier and safer than following a real one. People rely on subconsciously perceived tells to pick up on lies. If something is said with absolute confidence, people will instinctively believe it, since there are no tells to indicate lies or uncertainty.I do not think it is just AI telling people things, but some believe it to be THE answer and not just a tool to help look at all the sides. It will get worse once kids lean on it and grow with it- same as cell phones and social media. We are not teaching people how to think and it is easier to just ask someone to skip to the end with a TLDR.
