sentient HUH??????? is the highest DR just all of existence granted sentience??????

The highest detailed rank is Divine Rank 30 (the Supreme Being) and is effectively just a metaphor for the Games Master.

There are hypothetical ranks beyond that I have plotted out but it all gets a bit meta-meta after that. If I can get a few books under my belt with these rules I might tackle Divine Ranks 31+ sometime in the future.

I mean, that's pretty close to a Supernal in the 3.5e book at least, but I'm not sure what U_K's cooked up for the 5e book's DR 30 Supernal-equivalents quite yet.

I think stopping at Divine Rank 30 was the best fit. It sort of parallels the official rules with 30 creature Challenge Ratings.

I mean I know some of you guys will want to play all the way to Divine Rank 30 and beyond, but I think it works best to be taking on threats more powerful than the characters, so GMs might always want to keep a few ranks 'up their sleeves' so to speak.

In the outline for my campaign, I do plan for a DR 1-30 progression, and I've got a few beyond Supernal-level threats set up as well for my campaign, like my old creation Quex'Atal'Xiel'Sura, also known as the ANGEL, and the horrors waiting inside the deepest reaches of the Akashic Library, past the portals to the original Realm of Miracalis.

As another question for you, U_K, what are some of the highest-level/ranking celestials you have planned?

-Arcane :)

I knew some of you are just going to go crazy with it.

Well there's 'planned' and then there is 'likely to show up in a book'.

I have angels up to Divine Rank 26. But to make them more interesting I have a sort of Dimensional Flip going on where the Angels of the Astral Sea would be Lawful, in the 4th Dimension the angels are Chaotic (and bad), in the 5th they are Lawful (and weird), in the 6th they are Chaotic again, etc.

Now obviously we can still have good angels all the way up, but if you dig deep enough into the mythology and occult lore you can find nuggets of things that can lead to interesting variants.

So I'll probably lean more into variants like Sinistrals, Golgothans, Oneshim, Daynals, Nodites and so forth.

I was thinking Creative Commons and then other people can use these Rules in other books - which would be cool. That said I haven't made a final decision on that. What do you guys think?
I'm an OGL diehard myself, and while (if I had to be honest) I'm not sure if it'd ever happen, I'd love to see someone back-convert this to 3.5 or PF1, which it would need to be released under the OGL for them to do.

I don't know them well. However, I believe they handle IP differently, so if there is anything you don't want to share then you might look into more closely. However, if your completely open (like LevelUp) you can release it in either or even both!

The OGL requires including the whole license, by CC just requires that you attribute the license (IIRC). Here is all WotC has on the SRD 5.2.1
