I am surprised I am still excited for Daggerheart

Just looking at the upcoming release and saw the PDF will be $30. Yes, I'll be picking it up right away. I'm also excited.

Daggerheart just arrived on my doorstep! It's a beautiful book. Love the magnetic slipcase the cards come in. I'm a little bit sorry we didn't get the deluxe set, but just a little. The price is really good and we did not wait extra time for it to arrive in Canada!

With the pdf being $30, the standard print edition -- a 366 pg hardcover and 189 cards -- is only twice that? That's actually a really good deal. And the standard has some nice production values... they could have done $75 and I don't think people would have thought twice.

I mean, I know they want to get the core book out there to grow the fan base but still, I don't think they're being greedy here at all.

It does seem like a really good deal. I hope that entices a lot of people to buy it.

If it weren't for the facts that I (a) would totally lose and/or destroy those cards and (b) my eyes are old and crappy so I need to zoom in to read things, I would have gotten the print edition as well.

The print size is a little bit on the small size, so you made a good decision. Cards come in a lovely large box with magnetic lid so probably wouldn't get lost. Course, I'm really good at losing things myself, so I get it. 😉

Haven't read the book thoroughly yet, but my husband and I went through character creation. Looks like it's going to be really fun!

It hurts my brain we can't get realistic font sizes.

I wanted to buy this, but I know my players, and we won't be playing it. I hope everyone has fun!

Out of curiosity, what's the problem? It's not 5E? The duality dice? What do you think makes it untenable for your players?
