It’s definitely got that 2e/early 3e art vibe to it.

I much prefer B&W ink art for Shadowdark.

Sometimes my disappointment in myself knows no bounds.

I was thinking "how bad can the cover be?", rather assuming it was fine but not in the typical Shadowdark black & white and then... oh dear.

Yes I also would not buy a book with that cover. I don't object to slutty vampires of any gender but like, come on, these ones aren't even well drawn or cool/hot! It just looks like someone talented but still developing their style's horny scrawls on Deviantart from 15 years ago.

Also somehow the tall male vampire looks like he's apologising to the fully-clothed female vampire, saying he has no idea why the two stripper-esque vampires are at their doorstep, none at all! I'm seriously getting Larry David vibes here!

I do like that Shadowdark is getting remakes of D&D settings though, that's cool.

It's sad because it sounds like an at least trying-to-be-fun product but like what a silly cover. You can do this stuff right!

Like it wants to be a less er... sex-offender-y version of this kind of vibe.

Honestly, the cover would be okay if not for the one on the left. Sexy female vampires aren't necessary so bad, but that one is full stripper. You never go full stripper.
