The mindset behind these sort of depictions is so puzzling to me, even thinking about racism as being day-to-day acceptable, which explains the horrific patois. Because like, we see in one of those middle panels, a Black or perhaps bi-racial woman is depicted, like, perfectly normally for a comic, and Steamboat's body and musculature are "normal" (for a comic), but he has this bizarre animalistic head that doesn't remotely fit with the style of Shazam, like what made the artist think that was a good idea or necessary or w/e? And in 1942? Insane. I've seen plenty of non-racist depictions (or at least, not racistly drawn, even if the writing still is) of Black people in comic book art by then or shortly thereafter. Maybe the answers are too SAN-damaging to seek out!

TIL that, if you die without a legal will and testament in Colorado, your assets will go to your closest relatives under state "intestate succession" laws. And that a word document with your last wishes, no matter how much you want it to qualify as a last will and testament, does not.

Yep.

I don’t remember if I covered that specifically in my thread:

But an unprinted Word doc wouldn’t meet the probate standards in any jurisdiction I know of.
