Why is that murderous human taking away that poor, defenseless, orc's spear.

Watched Mononoke Hime again today (in IMAX!) and revived an old idea I've read somewhere of using the premise of the movie and apply it to Keep on the Borderlands: the Keep playing a similar role as Iron Town, and the Caves and its inhabitants as the woods and the beasts/spirits/kami. Using a modern reading of the old school alignment of law and chaos, place the Keep as Law and the Caves as Chaos: both with justifiable intentions, but locked in a violent conflict of interests that without interference will ultimately lead both to destruction. The players can help one side or another, or strive to find a way both can coexist.

When the box is released I will try to run a campaign using this idea, and see if it really works.

Wait, it's already in stores in the US?! I have to wait until halfway through October...
I'm not "in the US", but yes, AFAIK, those of us FLGSes with WPN status are supposed to get it today.

Of course, here in Canada we also had the Labour Day holiday yesterday, so there may be some delays from that. Also, I am West Coast, so people back east will beat me to it, I bet.

Ooookay. Now my Distributor is saying that there is no WPN "Early Release" for it (in spite of them having it on their shelves) and they can't release it until the 16th.

WotC's messaging on this has gone back and forth for weeks, with them originally saying there wasn't, then there was. They also originally told us to schedule In-store Play events for it starting Aug 26, but have pushed those back as well.

Methinks the head doesn't know what the posterior is up to.
