I agree with that, it is not purely a popularity gauge, this being an optional product already makes it less important. If they had kickstarted their first ‘of Everything’ book instead, that would give us a better approximationtreating this campaign as a proxy for enthusiasm about the system is misleading.
While I do agree that a lot of people are just looking to confirm their biases, the Kickstarter is actually not just about the cards. That’s why treating this campaign as a proxy for enthusiasm about the system is misleading. At most, it measures interest in premium, redundant packaging of existing components—not the health of the game.
Almost certainly. It seems probable that this one came as it did because there wasn't a ton of new work that needed completed to get it live. A setting, adventure or supplement is going to take some time.I think if they had taken the opportunity to Kickstart their next big product, with the new Classes and such...they would have gotten more interest.
Am I understanding this right? That it's actually cheaper to get the PDF through the kickstarter than to get the PDF through drivethrurpg? While I do agree that a lot of people are just looking to confirm their biases, the Kickstarter is actually not just about the cards.
This Kickstarter is geared towards the fence-sitters like me. You get the game for free if you buy the cards (or free cards if you buy the PDF if you see it that way.)
start it this weekend, the KS will still be going for a whileThis one is an unfortunate victim of timing. I'm just starting a campaign and my players would definitely back to get the PDF of the game + their class pack ... but we're not started yet.
It was. A lot of people asked.Ah, was the size confirmed in the AMA? I'll need to watch that. If so, that's unfortunate but not the end of the world. I was really looking forward to oversized card and if they're normal sized I'm a bit less eager to go in on them despite wanting to preserve my limited edition cards.
if you exclude S&H, yesAm I understanding this right? That it's actually cheaper to get the PDF through the kickstarter than to get the PDF through drivethrurpg?
This is a sad case of everyone involved being married with kids. Finding the time to get everyone into is a high Tier challenge. I'm going to try, of course. I'm also giving the Kickstarter out to all of the players to perhaps make them think about the class they're going to play, so it's likely some of them will back it.start it this weekend, the KS will still be going for a while
