Are there any old classes that are tied to settings? Artificer was Eberron, and Psion is likely Dark Sun. I wonder if they'll continue this pattern in the future?

I do think Warlord would make the most sense, it's got the most recognizable name and concept I've heard, and it has the fan demand I've seen online (not a perfect sample size, though.)

A Real Assassin, not the archtype they have, but an actual Assassin Class.

Or, perhaps...a

Cavalier Class.

Just as valid as the Warlord Class.

They are prior full classes (as opposed to prestige) from Hardcover D&D books that are no longer classes now.

Though, I suppose in theory they could combine the Marshall (though that was more a miniatures HB class) with the Warlord.

The Marshal/Warlord feels like the biggest missing role from the line-up (my group ended up using the A5e version which served quite nicely).

Myself and some of my other players really loved the 4e swordmage and their highly mobile brand of ‘tanking’, but I don’t see this current dev team having the desire or sensibilities to pull off something like that for 5(+)e. I think the time for that class to appear would have been in the “Tasha’s” era, but we got the Bladesinger instead.

I think the Shaman would work as a Druid subclass, maybe one that can channel spirits in place of wildshape uses.

Based on the fact we have Artificer as the 13th class, and signs pointing towards Psion as the 14th class with it's 2nd UA showing it's likely going to be in something. Given that they are going at a slower rate at for introducing new classes than they did for 3e and probably never are going to reach 20 classes. What should the 15th class be?

Personally, I think we have too many classes already. If it were up to me I would make Artificer a Rogue subclass and Psion, Sorcerer and Warlock Wizard Subclasses make Warlord a Cleric subclass and Shaman a Druid subclass.

Warlord

we certainly dont need another magic something (though I'd be fine with the Warlord having Auras that I can pretend are rallying cries and signals)
