Doing so, I can't see where you pick the Daggerheart minis versus just the frog folk or whatever.

I am not sure why you would pay extra for the ribbit.

The frog man has only very limited facial customizations. It's possible the Ribbet gets the full range of them.

I admit that these sorts of things -- having a mini that matches my mental image of my character-- are not things I care about. At all. So I don't understand why it is an issue, but I do understand that it IS an issue for some folks. I'm just as happy to use a die or penny or M&M.

The custom facial expressions add a lot of personality to a character. If you're dropping $100 on a fancy custom brass mini, I can see wanting to have it really match what the customer wants.

Yeah, I love the Critical Role folks and think it is great that Daggerheart is doing well...but between this and the Shennanigans with the "open" license for Daggerheart they have had some WotC-level rake-to- face moments.

"company trying to make money has increased costs, so they pass them on" sure seems like a bad thing to be mad about.....Like, if there are really better alternatives, use them.

Maybe the increased costs would be covered by the increased popularity of the service gained from the partnership?

(I know, I know, its not about enough profit..its about MAX profit)

Unlikely, but possible. But generally when costs go up, prices go up.
