D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light has been released

We've got Lorwyn Changeling and Rimekin species, and two new elven lineages: Lorwyn elf and Shadowmoor elf. Pretty cool. Feats are Shadowmoor Hexer and Child of the Sun (tied to Lorwyn Expert and Shadowmoor Expert backgrounds). Nice to have an "ice person" species! And the Lorwyn Changeling differs from Eberron Changeling in interesting ways!

Huh. Kind of a shame that they're not releasing it as a full book.

I suspect WotC took the wrong lessons from Strixhaven: "Fans don't want full MTG hardcovers," rather than "fans don't want half-baked books."

I don’t think it’s a matter of trying to encourage exploiting the feature with Dash synergies (I’m not even aware of any such synergies existing). Rather, I think this is a sign that the writers/editors who were familiar with this particular technical nuance of 5e are no longer working there.
We know that at least a few of them are not.

"Dash" is confusing for a few reasons. It obviously should have been changed in development or during editing to "as a reaction you can move your speed". They can still fix it, lets see.

Is this worth the $15?

When you put it that way... Oof.

So how do they handle the effects of Eventide/Morningtide on PCs?

I didnt see anything that addressed it
According to the supplement, it only affects creatures native to Lorwyn-Shadowmoor. For those creatures, when they cross over, they "instantly take on" their other aspect, retaining only "dim, distorted memories of its time" in the other place. Nothing about PCs specifically, but as a DM I would let my player have two different character sheets. That'd be pretty cool.

So is the tolerance threshold something like five pages per dollar?
