D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn Eclipsed, the MtG set releases January 2026, could tge Lorwyn D&D be released concurrently?

If we remember the current strategy by WotC 5e books are focused mainly into crunch that could be used in most of homemade settings. Then this comingsoon Lorwyn-Shadowmoor would be more like "book of the dark feys". And then this Shadowmoor would work like a softer version of the Shadowfell, allowing more space for adventures with low-level PCs. I guess they will add some new elements but theses should be easy to be used in your homemade setting.

Eldraine could work like a "softer" version of the Feywild.

I wonder how a Lorwyn-Shadowmoor setting would even work. The scale of the time for a change/swap would basically mean you were playing in one setting or the other.

And all the lore for the other would just be background. But the dynamic from MTG seems to be more of a constant.

The Plane was altered at the end of he plot originally, IiRC, amd they have hinted the dynamic is totally different now.

That came out after the decision to delay would have been made, so the horror stuff could have been bumped up.

It might even contain stuff intended for Shadowmoor. WotC have a track record of obfuscating UA.
I mean, whatever the Horror options are for, they are obfusating it. But they were Gothic Horror options, not Dark Fey.

Here is what the Magic Fandom Wiki says about the recent lore, seems far more D&D Setting friendly:

Lorwyn–Shadowmoor fused
At the end of the Eventide, the Great Aurora is no more, although the resulting plane's structure and races have not been disclosed yet. Maralen was one of the main participants in the return of the natural day/night cycle to the plane.

Phyrexian invasion
Lorwyn was a target in New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse. Although the aspect of Lorwyn appears to be dominant, some elements of Shadowmoor have survived to the present, such as both worlds' versions of kithkin. The Phyrexian appearance was apparently so unsightly to the eyes of the plane's inhabitants that both perfects and eyeblights worked together in unprecedented kinship to repel the invaders.

Fascinating, thank you.

I've been reading about Lorwyn-Shadowmoor as of late, and I'm very excited for when this book comes out eventually!! There's so many cool concepts to play around with in this setting, and I hope we get some new playable species like the kithkin, and some new monsters, like the noggles!!

I also wonder if there'll be any subclasses in this book? There's so little info about it as of now that there's no way to know, but I wonder what sort of subclasses would work with it?

Also, what're the odds of the changelings in Lorwyn-Shadowmoor being playable?
