"Fiendish Villains!" The unknown voice echoes down the corridor but only Viscardi can hear the voice clear (but cannot understand the language being spoken.) Then, another man screams in pain. Viscardi isn't sure who... the thief is just trying to stay alive.

"You will find Rhone of the Spear more than a match for your chaotic beast and magicks! I have led legions against the Hordes of Chozor Gathik! You are nothing to the Spearmaster of Ticinum!"

"C-commander, he nearly killed me! I- I cannot keep the spell going!" The voice gasps.

"Go... Traon! Deal with The Exemplars!" Kefax replies. "I will help The Master's great son kill this one."

He shouts to the other Loyalists. "Go! take down The Exemplars! No mercy given!"

Despite the echoing of the corridor, all that Tim can hear is the sound of hailstones pounding on him.

OOC: @TaranTheWanderer , you can have Vitus make a Listen check, but it will be at -4 due to the Ice Storm blocking the passage. Plus, there is the distance down the corridor. But, the voice is shouting very loudly, so it's not impossible for Vitus (or any of the others to hear). If you want to make the Listen check, let me know and I'll calculate the DC.

 

[Knightfall]

The Loyalist commander disappears up the stairs and confronts his new foe. Weapons flash and damage is done, but none of The Exemplars bare witness to the clash of axe and spear.

Tuck moves like a scaled cat, and is soon climbing up the ladder and out into the guard house. He lets out a sigh of relief. He's more at home in the Undercity than crazy demiplanar dungeons. He's made his descison. He will have to tell the others soon. He hopes he lives long enough to see Mutt again.

Betella is either driven by her duty or the courage she feels from Sergeant Griffith's bard song. She moves past Akos, Vitus, and Vincenzo to stand just behind Rockhorn with her crossbow raised and ready to fire at anything that comes near the door.

OOC: At this point, @TaranTheWanderer is up for Vitus. The guard that goes right after him, will climb the ladder once Tuck is clear. Then, it will be @Aust Thale's turn for Falen.

Rockhorn can tell the woman is very scared, yet her training seems to have keep her so focused on defense of held ground that she doesn't seem willing to give it up. Rockhorn knows from his own training with the mountain rangers that sometimes soldiers are taught to fight to the bitter end. Yet, they are also taught to take orders.

Vitus knows better, though and starts to move but, not before he hears the voices on the other side of the hallway.

If the many hadn't been shouting a challenge of battle at the Loyalists, the cleric of Tyche wouldn't have heard anything but blades, hailstones, and the slashing of the vampires claws.

OOC: Vitus knows he's heard of someone from Ticin history who was known as Rhone of the Spear. It was many generations ago; a very old story, but he cannot remember the details. A warrior? Perhaps some (in)famous general from a previous age? Vitus also knows that Chozor Gathik was an infamous ogre that led a deadly horde through Ticinum about a century ago. (based on two Knowledge checks -> History [12] and Religion [rolled a 1]) Lithia has not been pulled up yet. Gattas made a successful Use Rope check (rolled last round), but it takes a full round for him to finish (since he did not rush). Princess Eeldai is set to pull the woman up on her turn after Gattas finishes tying the rope. The genie has readied her action (I think I wrote delayed in the Init. list) to haul the woman up near the end of this round. Vitus can search her next round.
