Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

"Fiendish Villains!" The unknown voice echoes down the corridor but only Viscardi can hear the voice clear (but cannot understand the language being spoken.) Then, another man screams in pain. Viscardi isn't sure who... the thief is just trying to stay alive.

"You will find Rhone of the Spear more than a match for your chaotic beast and magicks! I have led legions against the Hordes of Chozor Gathik! You are nothing to the Spearmaster of Ticinum!"

"C-commander, he nearly killed me! I- I cannot keep the spell going!" The voice gasps.

"Go... Traon! Deal with The Exemplars!" Kefax replies. "I will help The Master's great son kill this one."

He shouts to the other Loyalists. "Go! take down The Exemplars! No mercy given!"

Despite the echoing of the corridor, all that Tim can hear is the sound of hailstones pounding on him.

OOC: @TaranTheWanderer , you can have Vitus make a Listen check, but it will be at -4 due to the Ice Storm blocking the passage. Plus, there is the distance down the corridor. But, the voice is shouting very loudly, so it's not impossible for Vitus (or any of the others to hear).

If you want to make the Listen check, let me know and I'll calculate the DC.

The Loyalist commander disappears up the stairs and confronts his new foe. Weapons flash and damage is done, but none of The Exemplars bare witness to the clash of axe and spear.

Tuck moves like a scaled cat, and is soon climbing up the ladder and out into the guard house. He lets out a sigh of relief. He's more at home in the Undercity than crazy demiplanar dungeons. He's made his descison. He will have to tell the others soon. He hopes he lives long enough to see Mutt again.

Betella is either driven by her duty or the courage she feels from Sergeant Griffith's bard song. She moves past Akos, Vitus, and Vincenzo to stand just behind Rockhorn with her crossbow raised and ready to fire at anything that comes near the door.

OOC: At this point, @TaranTheWanderer is up for Vitus. The guard that goes right after him, will climb the ladder once Tuck is clear. Then, it will be @Aust Thale's turn for Falen.

Vitus gets annoyed when the guard pushes past him.

Why isn't she listening to anyone?

There is now no place for Tim to retreat to. Vitus knows better, though and starts to move but, not before he hears the voices on the other side of the hallway.

Who could that be

(assuming he hears the shouts )He shouts in Ticinin,

"Ci sono alleati qui, ma ci sono molti nemici tra noi. Unisciti a noi se puoi o verrai rinchiuso! Sono un diplomatico ticinese sotto attacco!"*

He moves up the ladder, shouting as he goes,

"Retreat!"

OOC:
Listen: 1D20+5-4 = [17]+5-4 = 18

I used Google to Translate to italian:

"There are allies here but there are many enemies between us. Join us if you can or you will be sealed in! I am a Ticin diplomate under attack!"

Action: Move up the ladder

Action: move to where they put Lilia, and Start removing all of The loyalist's items:
Start with: weapons, then jewelry, then belt, then boots.

They pulled her up, right? If I can't start searching her now, I will get Vitus will pick up his dagger.
He is 5 feet away from the trap door above.

"Hey! What are you doing!? Get back, leave space for Tim!" Rockhorn is more than annoyed, there was barely any space before this.
"Climb! All of you! Move!"
Rockhorn can tell the woman is very scared, yet her training seems to have keep her so focused on defense of held ground that she doesn't seem willing to give it up. Rockhorn knows from his own training with the mountain rangers that sometimes soldiers are taught to fight to the bitter end. Yet, they are also taught to take orders.

Vitus barely hears the voice echoing down the corridor to his ears through the sounds of battle and the raging ice storm spell. If the many hadn't been shouting a challenge of battle at the Loyalists, the cleric of Tyche wouldn't have heard anything but blades, hailstones, and the slashing of the vampires claws.

Action: Move up the ladder

Action: move to where they put Lithia, and Start removing all of The loyalist's items:
Start with: weapons, then jewelry, then belt, then boots.

He is 5 feet away from the trap door above.
OOC: Vitus knows he's heard of someone from Ticin history who was known as Rhone of the Spear. It was many generations ago; a very old story, but he cannot remember the details. A warrior? Perhaps some (in)famous general from a previous age? Vitus also knows that Chozor Gathik was an infamous ogre that led a deadly horde through Ticinum about a century ago.
(based on two Knowledge checks -> History [12] and Religion [rolled a 1])

Lithia has not been pulled up yet. Gattas made a successful Use Rope check (rolled last round), but it takes a full round for him to finish (since he did not rush). Princess Eeldai is set to pull the woman up on her turn after Gattas finishes tying the rope. The genie has readied her action (I think I wrote delayed in the Init. list) to haul the woman up near the end of this round.

Vitus can search her next round.

Falen:
As Falen flies up into the Guard House, he surveys the room. “Need priests and heavies!!! Now!!!! Get this hole clear. The Exemplars need to all come up. They are fighting undead!! Do we have oil? We could set fire below!!
"Four braziers," Captain Walther notes. "Two here and two in the other rooms. Burning coals, not oil."

"Two Elites are on their way to both The Palace and the Tribunal," one of the guards replies, as he and other guard get ready to drag the floating, petrified wizard to safety. "It will take them some time to get there. The Palace Guards are mainly soldiers, but there are a few evokers among their ranks."

"With your flying magic, you might get there before them," the captain suggests to Falen. "I suggest the Tribunal. You'll have less explaining to do there. And, since the attack on The Tribunal, the Wizard Council keeps at least one powerful Sectarian on guard duty."

"The pegasus, Spritewing, headed off to the Park of Angels to find The Willow Lady. She's a powerful healer." The other guard helping with the petrified wizard adds.

Aust Thale said:
He mentally quizzes the crystal, “Think, Little One! I need clarity on how to seal the labyrinth once we get our people back!
"The words, the words on the doors are only really meant to allow you to enter, and then exit once the doors seal from the other side. Aphogorin created them to protect the world from unstable time spilling out, but he never meant for them to be sealed permanently. The doors were his creation, not The Ancients. The words can't seal the doors from this side, or, the words were never meant to be used in that way."

Falen sees the words in his mind...

“Into Aphogorin's twisted corridors I want to brave,
To seek more than an early grave.”

The psicrystal muses mentally. "You could try to recite the unsealing phrase from the outside instead of the inside, but I cannot say for certain what that would do. Aphogorin was, still is, a tricky being. Perhaps... if you said the opening phrase in reverse, the psionic resonance of the door might be blocked, for a while. Wait, what is hap-..."

"Urk!"
Falen feels a pang of discomfort as his mind is shown what might happen to them, if they try to permanently seal the Labyrinth.

(For Aust Thale Only)Falen sees in his mind's eye a strange, large metal rod that is split into two interconnected cylinders. The device is struck against the Labyrinth's doors and there is a resounding echo of a sharp musical tone. The psionic phrase on the door shudders and seems to blink out of existence. Then, Falen's mind is filled with an image of powerful, howling mental storm. His mind is filled with this mental tornado of immense power and fury. He watches, as if seeing from far above, as the windstorm pulls him, the Exemplars, the guards, and even the people closest to the guardhouse into its maw and down into the Labyrinth below.

Then, there is the sound of hideous manic laughter.

Falen feels Ting mentally shudder. "Very risky. A misspoken syllable could trap us all inside., He, it, the Mad Soul would love it."

"A-arcane magic is your best option. The Mad Soul was a cleric and telpath in life. He only has his psionics now. When he... changed, he lost his connection to the divine. A simple Arcane Lock will keep the doors shut, temporarily. The spell Seal Portal would be harder for the Loyalists to dispel."
Ting's thoughts seep deep into Falen's mind and then spill out into the minds of the other Exemplars and surrounding guards near Falen. "The only one ('one, one') who can permanently seal ('seal, seal') the labyrinth is Aphogorin ('me, me, me')."

("The Mad Soul, Soul, Soul..." Ting's voice (but not its voice) echoes from somewhere, distant, in all your minds. "He won't, won't, won't...")

"I have this... feeling... that the Renegade tried and failed to block access from the Material Plane. Aphogorin would not allow it," Ting continues without any sense of the echo in its voice. Then...

"NO! No, No, No! Never! Noooooo!"
{Laughter...
Screaming...
Pain.}

"Ah, That Hurts!" Ting shudders again, this time in considerable pain. "S-still to close to the Labyrinth to be out of the Mad Soul's influence!"

OOC: Ting suffers 2d6 points of damage. Falen can make a DC 20 Will saving throw to shield the psicrystal from the damage. If successful, Falen takes half of rolled damage instead, and it is only nonlethal. If he fails, Ting takes the damage. If you roll a 1, Falen also takes the damage.

Request: 2d6 Roll: [1, 1] = 2
Reason: Damage to Ting
(Luck of Tyche.. heh)

(For Aust Thale Only) During this powerful psionic connection (to both Ting and the Mad Soul), Falen sees Aphogorin in his mind's eye. The Mad Soul (known as "The Oracular Man" during his lifetime) exists as a disembodied presence within the Labyrinth yet can project its powerful mind beyond the Labyrinth, as long as the double doors are open. Falen knows that the Mad Soul was once a powerful human cleric of a deity named Zogath, as well as extremely powerful telepath. Now, the Mad Soul is a spirit, but not undead. Falen eerily senses that the Mad Soul is watching him from somewhere (that feels very far away) deep within the Labyrinth of Lost Souls.
