D&D 5E (2024) No 5.5 AP Yet?

I've run Lost Mines 3 and a half times, and working on getting together a group for yet another time. I think it is the best published campaign for 5e, especially with Icespire Peak available in the same region for the same level with lots of highly modular pieces to insert to the table's tastes.

It's certainly not perfect but it's strength is having the right amount of detail to support the DM but still be wide open to rework, insert, and expand without causing major problems. It's also the right scale for a DM (or me at least) to fully digest without being overwhelmed, and I think because of the limited scale and it being for the starter set it was more thoroughly playtested than most adventures. Also a nice greatest hits album of low level D&D experiences.

Lost mines is very similar to it 1 The Night Below conceptually. The 1st modern adventure format. Kind of a prototype.

Lost Mines is very good. I think a longer and/or high level adventures are really hard to write.

Against the Giants was always higher level
So what? It's still an extended campaign with about 7 chapters. Nothing special about starting at first level. It was actually pretty rare to start at first level in 1st edition days. Even Dragonlance started at level 3. Levelling was much much slower of course, so it would take longer to gain 5 levels than it would to gain 20 in more recent versions of the game.

That was a point of the early APs. Complete campaign not a series of linked higher level adventures.

That had been done before.

Nothing to indicate that in the terminology. It's basically a euphemism for railroad.

Page 5 Shackled City introduction in the compiled hardcover.

Also page 4 talks about Mere of Dead Men i referenced earlier. Some guy named Chris Perkins gets a mention. He"ll never go anywhere.

Linked adventures had been done before. A complete campaign 1-20 has not.

I figured you would do this so gave yourself enough rope to hang yourself. Its literally right there in the introduction.

Wanna borrow my shovel to dig your hole deeper?

Just ignore him, man. I ignore listed him ages ago because of posts like the ones he has made in this thread.

I dont use ignore buttons. I dont care if people disagree with me. Its ENworld its a bubble now where you expect to get gaslight and strawmanned by people not actually playing the game. More serious business you do it elsewhere.
