AI/LLMs DLSS 5 will be the worst thing to EVER happen to video games

They’re essentially saying Aloy is still wearing makeup in the before image because her lips and cheeks are rosy.
As if on cue. No. It's obviously not like saying someone is wearing makeup because their lips are rosy. It's like saying changing someone's lips to be rosy when they don't have rosy lips is like what makeup does. We're not talking about a before image in isolation, we're talking about the after image in direct relation to the before image and what changes have occurred. False equivalence doesn't do your argument any favours. The character already exists. She already looks a certain way. This is a set of changes being applied after the fact to alter her appearance. This is so incredibly analogous to makeup that word policing to this level of pedantry has no actual purpose. It doesn't change that the colour of her lips was actually changed. It doesn't change the fact colour her lips were designed to be is not the result of being held back by some future technology not yet realised. Her lips could've been this colour the whole time. But they're not. DLSS5 makes them that way because it cannot, and therefor does not, give a naughty word about any intent that went into that design. It plasters over those details so it can barrel towards a future of homogenous aesthetics.

Now i need to see if there's a mod that does this to heller so i can have it NOW instead of whatever the final roll out will or won't look out which i'm sure is 5 years away due to any number of factors, I know there's several mods that improve Lin to various degrees.

I have mods that clean Lin and Heller up if you think it doesn’t make sense for them to be covered in soot after a certain point in the story.

I have said multiple times that a fact-based statement would be about Grace’s pallor or healthier cheeks. Saying it is the result of cosmetic is conjecture when there is no evidence of product.
That's not "fact-based". Lots of people are pale and perfectly healthy in every sense. It's just as much conjecture on your part meaning that you're only word policing for language you find favourable. Given there is no functional or meaningful distinction between those descriptions in this context I'll refer you back to the prior post.

I’m going to have to ask that you do me the courtesy of reading my past posts in this thread if you want to reply.

If the complaints were that Grace needs to look less hale for artistic reasons, then I’d understand better where they’re coming from. I also think it is something that can be corrected on the developer end.

I see a lot of people on the internet who don’t know about makeup making statements of conjecture and not fact.

They’re essentially saying Aloy is still wearing lipstick and blush in the before image because her lips and cheeks are rosy.

No, in fact it's the opposite? That the color is clearly modified and deeper in the latter picture (both in Aloy and Grace) that is has the appearance of makeup, and the proper comparison is you going "No, that's just increasing their natural color". If you want to try and dance around that, good luck. The vast majority of people simply do not agree with you, and I think for rather good reason.

Edit: Aloy’s waterline in the before does appear to have color. I looked things up and see that this is a thing in the game. Lining waterlines is something that goes back millennia. A really old technique is to put cosmetic on a rod, place the rod parallel to the eye, close the eye around the rod, and gently slide the rod across the waterline. People in some parts of the world still do this.

I suppose this is the part where I caution people in general to be critical of social media and dodgy clickbait journalism.

I honestly can't believe you are jumping through hoops to defend the waterline stuff here. Wild.

Her face is in the middle of speaking.

Here is some video footage. The TerraBrew employee looks fine.

If you watch the video, you can literally see her head basically shrink as the bar goes across, and her eyes get bigger. The change to facial shape and eye size is also one made with Grace, too, and also correct.

I think you’re confused here. I’m talking about Aloy’s before image. The after clearly has cosmetic as a joke.

Game developers put waterline liner on Grace and Aloy in their games. That’s the original vision. I’m just saying Aloy canonically wearing liner makes sense.

I’m going to have to ask you to do me the courtesy of not skimming my posts if you want to reply.

I can't really believe anyone would use and overtly and deliberately sexist example as a defence of this tech and expect it to come off well meaning. It's a fairly poor choice on tone alone. Not to imply that anyone is being sexist as I can't speak to that but the comparison between these things is pretty obvious and it's not something I think is in good taste in general terms.
