Because that appears to be the MO of the people that post a large number of these articles: Bait people with an evocative title, then spiral into whatever it is they want to talk about, because you're already reading. Pretty sleazy behavior if you ask me. May as well just put "FREE BEER IF...
So I've noticed a lot of this at my table:
Players that switch characters and classes often between games don't read and re-read the combat sections, and sneak in extra actions until someone catches them.
I don't think anyone's doing this on purpose. Most recently is the TWF bonus action not...
The difference is that WotC's strategy is banking on the multi-media approach, which has failed miserably. Up to the end of 4th, video games and other content external to the P&P were not central. This time around, it's a much bigger part of the picture.
In Pathfinder's case, the MMO falls...
Perkins wanting to deliver content in "a lot of ways we haven't seen before" sounds like "groundbreaking for the sake of groundbreaking".
Let me give you an example of groundbreaking for the sake of groundbreaking: The Blackberry Playbook. Remember that? It was an answer to a question nobody...
It's really never been a problem. Most of the time, we know ahead of time.
There are a few times in the past we've had to eject players for not having their real-life stuff together enough to keep them around.
See: bad behavior
or
Player's significant other repeatedly pulling the player out...
So the reason I asked, was looking at their entire brand strategy, it appears that any attempts to market the brand outside the TTRPG and the novels that specifically involve Drizzt have concluded in utter failure. In SCL's case, it's actual "epic fail".
To be fair, I don't have data on the...
I want to reiterate here that this game still has VERY serious video driver bugs that cause the game to crash, and you lose your progress since the last save. This is for both nVidia and AMD cards. Intel integrated video is reported to be almost unusably slow, and high end video cards overheat...
I was referencing the flat out bad reviews, and unanimous-yet-disparate negative sentiment by just about everyone who got their hands on it. I still own it, the story is okay, and i'm hoping for improvements, but I truly believe the damage has been done...only get one chance to make a first...
Nope, the uproar has been pretty bad for awhile. And huge swaths of people still can't play it due to crashes.
(I'm replying to your pre-edited post, which was a question)
So after several years now with this new Realms, it's actually become far worse than it was in 4th.
#1 They blatantly throw away any kind of setting cohesion in favor of cramming more stuff in
#2 marketing and media are far more important than pleasing returning fans.
#3 the people they are...
I just want to say here that my last Dragonlance game in 5e a few months ago ended at the conclusion of DLS3 Wild Elves, which had a ship full of spelljamming drow tormenting some kagonesti. It will be a Spelljammer campaign from that point on when we next play.
