The characters will be starting the game as lvl 4 characters. Altho the campaign will just be starting.

Yup, I've done and suggested all that. But like I said he's stubborn. He argues that with such a small group they 'need' to dual or multi class just to have all there basses covered. I think I'm gona change the rules to allow a dual or multiclass character to advance like in earlier D&D...

Yeah thats his major argument. a 10/10 fighter/sorcerer would get killed by the same things a level 20 fighter or a level 20 sorcerer would waste. He wants to have the same split that earlier D&D editions had.
