What do you use to keep track of you notes?

I've used Treepad since more than three years with a great pleasure and efficiency. I can import rtf or other word processing formats, images can be linked to or pasted into. Their hyperlink features are great. I store campaign data, adventure data (text and maps), monster stats, and I also have...

Why the lack of 3rd party adventures

It looks like the deal between Paizo and Wizards doesn't allow Paizo to sell PDF versions of their adventures before the magazine issue is out of print. Your idea of publihing in PDF some adventures not "paper published" before is a good one, but wouldn't it look like a "buy what didn't make it...

How would you like to see a PDF version of Dragon/Dungeon

We're in a time when many DMs handle their games behind a laptop screen, so Dungeon adventures texts should be available for a small fee or a subscription. It's so sad to learn that the publishing deal between Wizards and Paizo doesn't allow this, maybe it's time for the small boys to knock on...

    Recommend a good wiki?

I have been using DokuWiki with great efficiency and pleasure, easy setup (no database), nice layout out from the box, easy syntax. This wiki works well, is fast and easy to use. The fact that it stores data in plain text files makes backup a pleasure. http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:dokuwiki

How long have you been a DM?

Started playing in 1979, 26 years ago. It was an early start, as the game was not easily available here in France. Started DMing a few months later, and my first attempts were a shame. Things went much better after that and some of my games are said to stay in my players' memories. After going...

What do you think WotC should be making?

That's the way to go! Get D&D back to the kids, to bring new gamers (buyers) to the game. My 10 years old daughter is DMing her own games with her friends, do you think she can handle 1000 pages of core rules? I am thinking about buying D&D basic stuff for them to play, it's a shame! They are...

D&D players, tell me about your HARP games

A little background, first: I have played D&D for more than 20 years in its different editions, with a group of friends and in a gaming club. I decided to DM HARP because 3.5 became too cumbersome and too heavy on my side, too many numbers and rules, not enough "play". Just my experience here...

do you play any non-d20 games? If so, what?

After 20+ years of D&D, AD&D and 3rd Edition, I have now switched to HARP, and planning to play C&C. HARP: played in Middle Earth with a conversion of my own. C&C: an "old style - back to the roots" revival try...

    Response to Woas about HARP

A few thoughts from a "switcher": After 20 more years playing D&D, I grew frustrated with 3rd Edition, searched for a new system and found HARP: great system at the start, takes time to figure some of the things but easy to go on after that, great flexibility, wonderful magic system, fast PC...

What do you miss about AD&D 1e?

What I am missing is our old local games shop, with the old guy at the desk: "Hey, good boy, are you a DM? No? Then stop looking at this book, it's not for the players, but for the Dungeon Masters!" And the guys allowed to look at these books were taken with great respect, if not awe. They...
